Re: A not so DEEP topic

As far as I know, the Bible is silent on whether Jesus was married or not.

One tradition is that He married both Mary and Martha at the wedding in Cana in John chapter 2 and carried on an Old Testament tradition of having more than one wife.

On a carpenters salary!?

I don't think He was married, I don't believe he would purposely put a wife through that when He knew all along what would happen. Also, can you imagine the DNA if He had children? IMHO

That is gnostic heresy.

Jesus probably did not marry for some very good reasons. His kingdom was not of this world. He did not come to establish an earthly family. He knew his destiny was to leave this earth at 33.

Also imagine the problem the church would have with children from Jesus running around and cults springing up surrounding them?

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
