Just make sure you get the 100 mile per hour duct tape and not the cheap 30 MPH stuff.

See, I have a plan.

I'm the same way with mastic. Ive got 5 tubs of the stuff.
It seems every install job I forget to grab a tub of it and have to buy new.
One day I'm gonna buy an old truck and just coat the whole thing in mastic and never worry about rust, door dings, scratches again LOL

On the other hand, I never have enough brazing sticks around. I buy a pack, use two and the pack walks off.

I'm not going to quote any particular verse...

But... there are a number of posts in this thread that would appear to view one negatively who was taking of todays abundance to put up for a coming time of possible lack

I would wonder what people think it is about the ant that incited the utterance of the Proverb... Go to the ant, thou sluggard

Very, very good point, Diggin...

But, I seem to recall another that says something about, "be careful (anxious) for nothing..."

When the ant is putting up for the winter... he isn't anxious... he is simply moving in wisdom.

If one puts up for the future... it doesn't have to be done in anxiety. It can be done in the calm rest that comes in knowing that we have heard and are obeying the wisdom of our God.

That makes a lot of sense.

I'll go one step further...

Not only should I not do anything I do in obedience to the Word in anxiety. But my rest and my trust should come from the fact that I was obedient to Him.

If I take rest in what I have put away and the plans I have made then I am a fool.

It is still God who preserves us. We need only read and heed His word to the best of our ability and He will take care of the rest.

When grocery shopping, buy extra dried beans and rice. It doesnt' hurt to have a store of supplies. There is talk about a Depression coming that will make the 1p30's seem mild, from economists not bible scholars.

What would happen if our money has no value? What would you need to get by and what would you need to be able to barter and trade with.

Indeed...

But... from experience... even if the rice etc is in plastic bags... find something airtight to store them in. They can still get bugs in them.

We had to start over.

Walmart used to give away their buckets that their icing came in. They are food grade 5 gallon buckets and seal off.

But they don't give them away anymore.

They send them off to another country.
