I think we have to realize that just like the UPC the AOG has factions on both sides. Those who are trying to pull the organization towards a revival minded relevant group and those who are trying to maintain the heritage at all cost.

When I visit the local AOG and COG churches there are always those who remind me that they are "pentecostal" and always will be. They share the same fear that the younger generation doesn't place enough emphasis on outward Holy Ghost manifestations. Right now all the established AOG churches in my area are suffering while the nondenominational churches and modern churches are having huge outpourings of the spirit and growth. The local COG has absorbed many from the local AOG and I know of at least 10 people from my former UPC that are now attending the local COG. So revival is happening but the folks have moved from the AOG to other churches.

Can you define this in detail ?? What do you understand to be "huge outpourings of the spirit" ?

Well, folks are getting the Holy Ghost. Folks who were in dead churches are now full of the fire of Pentecost. You can't go anywhere now without someone talking about the Holy Ghost or speaking in tongues or shouting or getting a blessing. These are not churches I attend but I have known many of these people for a long time and even while I was UPC. They are full of excitement and glad to be out of dying churches. I know many people who are baptist who had received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost but didn't feel comfortable in the local pentecostal churches who are now attending regularly because they feel welcome. I think a lot of this has to do with
at least three young ministers and churches in our area who are hungry for revival.

While this might not be huge in numbers, it is a big deal in the Christian community in my area. I have to admit it makes me a little nervous.
