We could all hear that every so often.

Reminds me of the prayer that Father Mychal (Chaplain to NYFD and first 9/11 victim) used to pray every day:
Lord,
Take me where You want me to go,
let me meet who You want me to meet,
tell me what to say,
and keep me out of the way.

I pray that just about every day as a first prayer.

I ordinarily also pray the Serenity Prayer and the Prayer of St. Francis.
Then after those "canned prayers" pray for stuff on my prayer list and also pray in tongues to build myself up.
------------------------
The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as a pathway to peace;
Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You
Forever in the next.
Amen.
--Reinhold Niebuhr
1892-1971

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light
where there is division, unity,
and where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
