How to get closer to God?

The Bible states that if we draw nigh unto him, he will draw nigh unto us. God inhabits the praises of his people. What I would do is to praise him. Put on some good gospel music about the cross, the Holy Ghost Power and start worshiping Jesus. Sometimes I just listen to the words of the song The Old Rugged Cross, and with my hands raise, eyes closed, not saying a word, just visualizing the Savior on the cross, and knowing he suffered for me, the tears began to flow and the river of living water starts in my stomach, and I open my mouth, and the Holy Ghost begins to speak and WOW what a service. If you want to get closer to Jesus, just praise him.

It is normal to not feel saved enough. Don't forget that our righteousness is as filthy rags!

It is true that our righteousness is as filthy rags, but through faith we wear God's righteousness, and that is no small thing. If you can forget where you came from and what you were, as God has, than you should never feel "not saved enough" since it is by the blood of Jesus we are saved, fully, completely. That, thanks to grace, is more than enough.

Technically none of us is "good enough" but the beauty is that BECAUSE of that, He shares some of His righteousness (imparts it ) with us!
Truly it is amazing grace that will neither leave us nor forsake us., THIS I have known since almost before I knew anything else about Him. I have endured my long life knowing that I am hardly worthy, yet if He thinks so, then it MUST be!
And He excels in turning filthy rags into radiant garments!
