Because of reality. It's a waste of time and money trying to ban abortion. Abortion will never be banned. It's a lost cause. We can turn and help women or continue to try to fight a battle we haven't been able to progress with for 30 years... even when "Pro-Life" Republicans had the White House, both Houses of Congress, and 7 out of 9 justices appointed. What more do they want? One party rule? Maybe if we give them the White House, both Houses of Congress, all 9 Supreme Court Justices, and criminalize the Democratic Party...they'll do SOMETHING. Wrong. They won't even do anything then I assure you. But I warn you that in that day corporations will have more rights than you do as an individual, they'll not just employ you, they'll OWN you. Frankly, it could be argued that they already do.
