If I had five minutes before the General Board, I would begin with an ice breaker like, “Did you hear about the WPF evangelist who was stranded in the Tulsa airport for three days because he was afraid to be caught looking at the monitors and missed his flight?”

Then I would make the following plea:

Remember the missionaries.

Don’t let your critics shape your destiny.

Go find out where all the young preachers have gone.

Listen to the young preachers who haven’t gone, or they will.

And, most importantly, remember the missionaries.

But it's interesting to me how you can tell from the tone of some of their posts that some folks just clearly do not wish the org well, even now, many years after they've left.

They hate when people suggest that they're bitter, but... well, THEY'RE BITTER!

They really should just build a bridge... and get over it.

Yeah, I know what you meant. But I just wanted to comment on that particular angle of things.

It's just quite evident that there are some who still have a lot of bitterness because of real or imagined wrongs that they went through while in the org.

When you've hung around here long enough, you see it kinda often. And it's always a pathetic thing to see. Hopefully, those people will be will be able to put it past them, one day.
