We know that there are biological factors that are part of our very nature, especially in the area of attraction. For example pheromones, our flesh responds to these as they stimulate the brain’s pleasure centers. I had read about a blind test in which heterosexuals and homosexuals were given a blind test with pheromones. Interestingly the hetero individuals responded far more to opposite gender pheromone while the homo individuals responded far more to same gender pheromone. The results indicated that “attraction” or “interest” could be hardwired biologically via genetics. In other words…these people were born with this “predisposition” due to biological response.

I think we get all hung up on terms as we’ve been told to define them without looking more deeply at an issue. For example, we recoil at the idea that one was “born a homosexual”. However, we’re forgetting that the Bible does teach that all men are “born sinners”. We’re forgetting that we are at war with our “flesh”, i.e. our “biology”. It’s very possible that “sin” has effected us so deeply it was warped our very physical nature down to the genetic level. There have been studies on people with violent tendencies. There are lobes of the brain that appear to be less developed in these individuals. The lobes in question govern the brain’s sense of restraint. This difference isn’t due to injury, but rather was developmental, i.e. genetic. Yes, these individuals were “born violent” in their nature… or shall we say, “sin nature”.

When a gay person states that they were “born this way” way, I normally respond by telling them, “I know, the Bible explains that we’re all born sinners.” Then I begin explaining the war between our flesh and our spirits. I try to emphasize this is why when they know to go good…they do it not. And the evil that they would not do… that they do. They are slaves to this “sin nature” and that their only hope if they want to be free is … Jesus.

When one receives the Holy Ghost they undergo a spiritual “regeneration”. I believe that some aspects of our sin nature are so powerful we need healing or regeneration on several levels. We all need to be regenerated spiritually to be saved. Also we need to be healed or undergo the renewing of our minds…this is our mental self. The third aspect of our being is our physical self. Perhaps those bound by this aspect of their sin nature need a total touch form God that heals them body, mind, and spirit. God can fix DNA in a nanosecond. He can also renew a spirit and through the study of the Word renew the mind. Instead of demanding that they “grow up”, “repent”, “just choose to change”, etc; maybe we should seek their total healing, maybe this kind requires a miraculous healing from this infirmity.

When they say that they're “born” that way, in a sense they validate the Bible’s claim that all men are born sinners, this is just the sin they are predisposed to. They validate that sin is part of our sin nature, which is rooted in the flesh. They highlight the fact that their flesh and their will were at odds until they realized that it was a battle they couldn’t win all by themselves. When they say they couldn’t choose to change, they are underscoring the reality that they need a Savior.

What do you think?

Are you ready to minister to the spiritual lepers?
I live in a city that is full of homosexuals, lesbians, and transgenders.
They have nothing wrong with their DNA, their brains, the sweat, or their skin. Sin isn't in our DNA, nor is it part of your skin cells. Sin is a spiritual problem. There is an S&M nightclub up the block from my house and in the other direction is a transgender nightclub. What portion of the brain makes one pervert dress in leather, and the other in pantyhose? Please, we are talking a spiritual issue. Which stems purely from immature behavior that has run out of control. Grow up? Why not? I deal with these individuals everyday, while we are having our Bible studies they are on all sides of us. They really understand their behavior. The honest homosexual will tell you it's a choice.
Our society has labeled it as a choice of birth, therefore making it a race.
Now just like a man is born with different color skin, or height now he is born wanting to have sex with his own gender? Where does this end? Next men are born being attracted to young children?

I am warning this nation, they need to wake up and smell the rubber burning. Because we are heading towards a place that will bring the wrath of God upon us to the utter most.

You all use the word "gay?" they are not gay, happy or joyous. They are angry, and nasty. It has little to do with the sexual part, it has all to do with the attitude and behavior part.

We have homosexuals, Lesbians, and other different individuals stop in our Bible studies from time to time. I answer their questions and we pray for them. I have regulars who know us and while they don't come over and sit down, they know what we believe. It is always about WANT. That is what makes this so wonderful. No excuses, for man or woman.

A man leaves his wife and children not because his brain was wired different it is because he doesn't want to take care of his responsibilities. He neglects his wife and falls out of love with her, because he didn't want to deal with his vow of honor. There was a time when other men compelled us to tow the line.
Respect your wife and treat your children with care and love. Sad to say television changed all that. Young boys had television shows that portrayed husbands lying to their wives, gawking at other women, and conspiring with friends to skip work and responsibility. Immaturity, and no mentors, or elders to tell them to grow up. Little boys in a man's body, wanting to run off to the Island of Lost Boys to fight Captain Hook. While Wendy is pleading with Peter, "please grow up, Peter we need the bills paid, please Peter, grow up, we need food on the table." What's Peter's reply? "I want to play with my friends, I want to have fun." Why aren't the women around? Because the women remind the boys about being sober, and paying the rent.

This is all about repentance, and getting our life together in the Holy Ghost.
Water baptism in Jesus name and holiness unto the Lord, separated life in Christ.

The only way to go forward

In Jesus name

Re: Ted Haggard on TV now

I just watched his interview with Oprah. I think he is sincere.

One thing that stood out to me is that he said for so long he thought his problems were demonic attacks and that if he just prayed or fasted a little more he could overcome his issues. It wasn't until he admitted that it was his sinful nature and his responsibility that he finally turned it over to christ.

Everybody wants to blame an evil spirit or the devil when it is just that old sinful nature creeping back in.

For some reason, I just don't trust him at all. Maybe he's repented but for some reason, I just don't believe it. If he has, I guess God can accept him.

I watched most of the Oprah interview- I am very wary of his confessed repentance. Maybe I am being too cynical. I did admire his wife- and felt she gave some very good answers to some of the questions. I really think there is an angle to all this publicity.

I only watched him look into the camera, smile and confidentally state that he did not have sex with a man or do meth right before he was caught and I believed him. Now I didn't watch Oprah because I think it would just make me sick. The man can lie with a smile on his face and sell you the coat off your back. I can't watch him without getting sick.

I think you have nailed it my Sister, even though I would like to think that the man is seeking Christ, he did say he was involved in homosexuality for awhile before he was caught. Since Ted Haggard was flying under the radar for that long, while he was in a pulpit preaching hot and heavy against homosexuality. I would be hard pressed to believe that he is a changed man.
Let's look at it like this, Ted Haggard is a professional speaker and showman.
He was having homosexual relations and involved in drug use. He fooled his congregation and his colleagues who were in conferences with him. He also lied when he was first caught. Now, the first indicator was his lying about the situation when he was confronted. My thoughts are that Ted Haggard has a large upkeep in his personal finances. Since his "unsuspected" kicking out of the closet experience, old Ted boy needs to recoup his losses. What to do?
Hit the old talk show road. Maybe write a book? Sister, I do believe you can see clearly.

Hope Ted finds an Apostolic altar and gets the Holy Ghost, and gets baptized in Jesus name
