5 Things AFF Doesn't Know About Me!

Looking back on my childhood, I see how my mother and father made their marriage works all these years... They worked together.. They both worked full time... My father helped my mother with dishes.... It wasn't a strange sight to see my father vacuuming....2-3 times a day... They never fought... If you heard my father talk about women, you would think he didn't think they had any sense at all! lol I've heard my father say that the country started downhill when women were allowed to vote... but you let my father see a man mistreat his wife and see what happens... If he sees a man "demand" his wife do this or do that, he has his say-so about it.... and at the same time, he'll say women don't need to be behind the wheel of a car... lol... but he has the up most respect for my mother...

It's not about what you say, but what you do...


For years I listened to a preacher teach us about how men ought to treat their wives.... with such respect and so forth.... we went out to dinner with them and I heard part of their conversation that ended with, "you just take your place as a woman and keep your mouth shut"... well, I started laughing and started to make a joke about it .... but then I saw that he wasn't joking... so much for all that teaching.......

My husband is the most incredible! We don't fight... although I try to... In the 15 years we've known each other, we've never yelled and screamed at each other.... My parents never did and I would not have dated a guy that treated me disrespectful... nor would my father let me

I never saw any of this growing up, and did not know it existed until I got into church and noticed how married folks treated each other. All I knew is that I wanted a marriage like they had.

Thank God I have a good marriage today!

When I got into church, I saw people dropping like flies in divorce court! Sheesh, don't I have anything good to say??!! When we got into church I was really big on making my marriage work and looking to others for examples of that. Most of the couples I knew in our church divorced including one couple that had pastored! This was the couple that taught us Search for Truth. Fortunately the pastor and his wife were not one of them!

WOW!!!

That must have been horrible! I had one very close friend get a divorce after seemly being so in love and so involved in ministry. He was handsome and was just starting to preach....then he fell into adultery. It got really ugly with so much gossip going around the church. He had such potential and it was ruined by this affair.
Divorce hurts many other people sometimes-well more like adultery.

I never knew that men christian men treated their wives any differently till I got married and saw men yelling at their wives..... It totally shocked me... I expected that from the drunk next door, but not other church folks... but then again, the way some of those wives talked to their husbands, they deserved what they got.... lol I'll never being in my new church for about a year and sitting in the nursery with several women... I tell you, they were totally dogging on their men... Again, I thought it was a joke... but they weren't joking.... they were so disrespectful... I left out of there and went and hugged my man... I am blessed..... Again, it's in how you were raised and what you were used to seeing... For those women I went to church with, their Mama's ruled the husbands.... nothing worse than a nagging, overbearing woman........ except a nagging man...lol

I think an abusive man is worse than a nagging woman. The women always get the bad rap!

How about this, when I went to a womens conference and they had an question answer session and 1 out of 2 questions were about how to deal with their husband who sleep around.

I was on the panel and wanted to say "Leave them!" but I couldn't instead I said you need to talk to your pastor-

I think some women don't always want to leave them. I wouldn't leave him, I'd stay and make his life miserable.
