I had not received the Spirit infilling any more than the Samaritans had
received it, who had already believed in Jesus and been baptized in his name,
but yet they had not received the Holy Ghost until Peter and John
came down and prayed for them. (Acts 8)

My testimony is that I was raised Southern Baptist. I learned a lot of my
foundational beliefs during that time. Good things, such as
1. God loves me
2. Christ died for my sins and rose from the dead
but, I always felt like that there had to be more to it, than just believing.
There was something missing in way of a more tangible experience that
I could feel. Once, I felt the move of the Holy Ghost, (this happened to me
in my first visit to a UPC church) I knew there was more that God had in
store for me than what I had been lead to believe in the church of my
upbringing. I was only a teenager at this time, and what I felt impacted me
so that I went home and woke my mother up and told her about what I
had felt in that service.
There are a lot of good Baptist folks, but the deep move of God was missing
in the church I grew up in, and this is the case in most baptist churches
that I am familiar with. The move of the Holy Ghost that I felt led me to
believe that there was more at work in the Pentecostal church than what
I been experiencing in my local baptist church. This is why I take exception
to your statement that you had rather point a person to the local Southern
Baptist church than to the UPC. What happened in my life contradicts the
validity of what you are inferring.

Thank you for your testimony.

And I would never send someone to a Baptist church to hear the gospel.

I'm sorry Mizpeh. I think I got you mixed up with Delta Guitar, who had said in an earlier post that they had rather send someone to a Baptist church than
a Pentecostal church to hear the gospel.

That wasnt Mizpeh that said that. That was Deltaguitar.
Apparently, he thinks a Baptist church is a better spiritual evironment for a new believer than a UPC church.:

I would say that depends on the local Baptist church and the local UPC church.

You know Sam, I will be the first to admit that there are some UPC churches
that I would not want to attend, and there are certainly some extreme
Independent or AMF churches in our area that I certainly would not want to
send anyone to. My earlier argument was just the fact that I came from
a Baptist church, and it certainly was not a step down when I came into
Pentecost. In fact this Pentecostal experience has been the best thing
that ever happened to me.
