Re: Spontaneous Worship

People who sit on the sidelines and evaluate another's experience??? Come on guys.
A dangerous and non-productive thing to assess another's worship.

If I can't WORSHIP at church for fear you might call me insincere... should I stay home and worship???

Yes thats something else about the old Pentecost. Ive been in Churches where they judged whether the tongues were really of God. Then they would judge if the shouting (jerking, running, yelling) was really of God.

It was so pitiful. I remember one story from the first large Pentecostal Church I attended. A Brother was shouting and fell and broke his nose. It began to be said in the Church that if he were really in the Spirit that would not have happened. Well when that got back to him it hurt him and he backslid and went gay.

I knew another Brother a friend of mine who was a young Minister back then who broke his leg shouting. Not to be outdone even in his cast he would get up and run (hobble) the aisles.

So sure Im in the minority here but when I encountered the Charismatic worship as it was back in the 70's I was so happy and so glad to move on from the "shouting" Churches.

Please tell me you do not believe that this 'comment' that got back to him is what caused him to become gay?

No I dont. However their was an intense pressure put on people concerning the things Im talking about. Combined with other factors I think it has led at times to people becoming disillusioned with Church.
