Really, folks! What business does a peace loving Christian have owning a high capacity ASSAULT rifle!!! Who you gonna kill if I might ask? Your neighbor when he comes after your 7 year supply?
I just don't get how someone can feel comfortable owning one of those!
It's because when you hold it, it feels real nice! Plus, we live in Texas and we can!
A well armed citizenry is a bulwark against tyrants.
Why should anyone care what firearms I have as long as I am not assaulting anyone with them?
Buy guns and ammo and spur on the economy!
Have you tried to buy ammo lately? Forget it! You might as well try to buy some gold coins as rare as they are up here! In sportmans, where they used to have pallets of the stuff, ALL GONE!!

I was reading that one of the big guns shows in Florida was totally sold out! The writer, Doug Giles, said he had been going to the show for 41 of his 46 years and never has seen it happen!
He said,
Quote:
".....no cartridges folks! That's weird because Ft. Lauderdale is not even Texas!"
He also said, - hilarious! -
Quote:
"Yep, by the end of the business day the guns were gone. The rifles, shotguns, and pistols were . . . lock stock and two smoking barrels . . . pretty much history. For those with short-term memory loss, this was not a small shop with a couple of Ruger .22s and a few boxes of CCI 40 grain hollow points but a national retail chain with a stonkin’ firearm stockade."
Doesn't he mean - "stokin'"? LOL!
Gotta add this part!

This 411 has made me an amalgam of glad, mad, and a little freaked out. I’m glad that business is booming for those patriots in the firearms industry and that they are not in need of a bailout;
I don't have any guns.
I have never had anything stronger than a BB gun as a kid.
I have shot a few different rifles, shotguns, and hand guns years ago but not much.
It is my opinion, however, that our founding fathers intended for people to be armed in case our government became too controlling or too intrusive and we would have to defend ourselves against it.

I have no problems with guns. In fact, I'm in the process of obtaining my concealed weapons license. I'm just wondering if people are actually troubled by the ban on the types of assault weapons that cause so many problems on so many city streets, or if they are afraid of the "slippery slope". I honestly don't know how many of the average law-abiding gun owners own assault type weapons or ammunition and wanted to see how many here may.

I thought the debate was that the original fathers were establishing a ready militia and that is, in the opinion of some today, what the defining factor is on the "right to bear arms".
