Re: Ready for a Gun ban?

I've been fortunate. God has protected us so far. I was going to buy a gun once and the Lord impressed upon my heart that the moment I bought that gun my family's safety was entirely in my hands. So I didn't buy it. I then read what David K. Bernard had to say about this sort of thing. I'm just old time...I don't think Christians need guns for protection, we have the Lord. If I can't trust him with my family's safety, who can I trust? Hunting, I can understand.

Well, if that's the case, then I can only conclude that your mentality is an "either/or" mindset. Most of us that have guns don't have an "either/or" mindset.

We trust in the Lord and own guns. He comes first and we totally trust Him. Just because we own guns doesn't mean that we don't place our trust in God for our protection.

As far as the Lord protecting us - He allowed me to be aware of the Cooperhead so that I could take care of it. My children were in the house when the neighbor's dog showed up. He could have attacked them! I was able to shoot the German Shepherd before he caused any damage to my children or any of the children in our neighborhood.

Tell that to the pastors who have been shot in their churches/sanctuaries. I do because I can, am licensed to do so and it's my choice. I pray that I would NEVER have to harm someone even to protect another. But just in case, I'm ready should the Lord choose me to protect a life.

Fortunate? You gamble often?

Let me ask you this...do you think there might be christians somewhere that trusted God would protect them and ended up being hurt or killed anyways?

Praxeas, what a ridiculous question! Of course there are Christians who get killed, it happens all the time! We call them MARTYRS!!!!

Don't you believe that God is fully in control! I see a definate lack of faith in God here, sorry!

Did the people that died mean they lacked faith to believe God will protect them?
