I've been hurt by both and I'm sure I've hurt both. Both things should be allowed to be talked about. Not sure why folks want to push so many things under the rug. Lambasting is one thing.....no one should be lambasted, but discussion can be productive while discussing emotional pain. What I see repeatedly is that some folks don't want to allow any discussion. If nothing is discussed, nothing will ever improve. Of course, some people think you can't improve on a perfect thing.

And yes, you are correct. However many people simply have no place to go with their concerns. And the anonymity of the forum allows people to experiment with ways of opening up. It does also lend itself to abuse so of course your concerns are warranted as well. IMHO anyhoo.
I have pastored before but am currently engaged in different ministerial capacity. Not sure when and if I will pastor again. After hearing all of these horror stories about how pastors are perceived...well, you know.

No doubt some of the folks I was blessed to Pastor had their days of thinking I was a Moron.

I seem to remember Bro. Epley getting his feelings hurt and leaving the forum for a while a couple of months ago. Were you able to get over it, or have all the meanies promised to leave you alone...?

Discussion is good and healthy. But you and I have both been around these Forums long enough to know that when anew poster starts threads such as thes red flags should go up.

And sadly, too few folks can discuss these issues without attacking people, sticking to the issue and not the personality, just have to share their own story, etc. etc.

Still hard for me to believe that a Forum such as AFF would be the venue for anyone to want to discuss these types of issues.

And for what it is worth, even if I knew the person in "the real world" I would still be letting them know that there is usually always more to the story than what they are making known. All of us are subject to the human fallacy of slanting a particular situation to our favor. And so shall it ever be...

I think as long as people are not naming names, discussion is perfectly fine. It hurts no one, helps a person sort their feelings out and gives food for thought to everyone.

I suspect you have been BLESSED with someone to talk to outside of AFF in order to deal with things.

Hey, I did read it and am glad you came to that conclusion. My points after that were intended to be generic and not directed at you. As I said, I appreciate you not naming names. Always better that way. And I do sincerely pray that you allow God to deal with the situation in such a way that your heart and spirit are at peace.

God Bless!

Sure. And I sincerely hope you understand the difference. When those times occur I do not go somewhere and let hundreds of anonymous people know the situation.

And I may be a little odd, but I always talk to someone who is going to shoot straight with me and tell me when I was dead wrong and that is going to insist I get over it. I don't want it any ither way.

I believe that you WILL allow God to deal with the situation in such a way that your heart and spirit are at peace.
