Very Cool Idea
At our Savannah campus, the week before the Ground Breaking, they read the entire Bible through and it was broadcast across the new property with loudspeakers. Someone had figured approximately how many hours it would take (74, I think) and the people all signed up for an hour at a time. They would start right where the last one left off and proclaim the Word over the land. They were set up in a tent with easy-chairs and microphones - it was really awesome!
Everyone used the same Bible and after they read, they signed it. They are burying it in a time capsule at the cornerstone of the new building. Isn't that great????
Now the entire Word of God has been proclaimed over this piece of property. I know He will bless it beyond measure! I just had to share this; I'd never heard of it before but thought it was so cool.

Sherri,
That was a cool idea. I hope somebody took some good pics and video of it for posterity.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I know there are pictures; not sure about videos.
I just wonder who was the one reading Leviticus and Numbers. That could be very difficult to wade through!!

Genesis was pretty fun with some of those names. At times I felt like I was speaking in tongues!

Re: Very Cool Idea
What a great way to invite the blessings of God.
I've seen or heard of Bible reading marathons but never for this purpose.
