If I DID have a large quantity of cash for some reason, my SUITCASE is where it would be, rather than on my person. Isn't that what he did? Stuck it in his suitcase? LOL!!!!!

I do agree that it would have been wiser to wire the money, and not risk losing it in his luggage, among other reasons, but I don't agree that carry money while traveling is in itself a cause for suspicion.

Traveler's Checks
Traveler's Checks seem like too much trouble. LOL!!!!!

I still don't see how you can get out of having cash on hand, and plenty of it. We've been in places where they don't accept anything except cash.

Regardless, I agree that he wasn't wise to handle the money that way, mainly because it wasn't his to lose, if something were to happen with his luggage. But I don't agree that carrying cash makes a person suspect.

Traveler's checks. It will only take you loosing or being robbed of a substantial amount of cashe to get this. lol

I think you should know what was probably going on behind the scenes. Most likely they were running a criminal background check on him to make sure he wasn't wanted or part of some criminal ring (drugs, arms, terror, etc.). I also wouldn't doubt that a security directive wasn't issues to be on the look out for additional individuals carrying a lot of cash. Often these kinds of people work in groups so they each try to sneak a small but substantial amount of cash. We also don't know what security directives were in place. They may have actually been looking for a network of confirmed suspects to do this before the guy even got into the airport... and he was just getting caught up in the drag net. There's so much to this that isn't being considered.

I think it's strange how we want to berate and belittle the people risking their lives to protect the homeland. Why does it seem like the ultracon fringe hates America and every initiative taken to protect our nation from another 9/11 or the safety of our streets?
