This has lead to many fiefdoms, but no Kingdom. Of course, those who see nothing wrong in the present course of action will triumphantly thrust their finger in the air and say, "There's our kingdom!"
You see, we're building cloud cities, like in Star Trek. Just close your eyes tightly and say, "It's going to be worth it all!" three times and click your heels. Then stock up on Alpo and Raman for your retirement, unless you you've got a lucky feeling about the State lottery.

Pel,
Sad but true. I have been looking at this for several years now. There is absolutely no long range planning going on for many Apostolics.
When is the last time that you heard a sermon on financial planning in the Church? I preached about it one time in a church that had been in existance for 80 years. One of the older men came up to me afterwards and told me he had never heard preaching on financial planning, outside of tithes and offerings, in that church. It is like people are afraid to say IRA. The stock market is of the devil and and planning is a lack of faith.
Oh well, I guess if some just want to be wal-mart greeters then so be it.
