Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Ro. 11:22
We need to understand both sides of God.
Too much goodness and grace without an element of judgement can produce sloppy living and sin. But to much judgement and the anger of God produces fear, legalism, and an ever increasing "standard" to which no one can measure up.
