Yep. It's the flu. Do what you do for the flu. Go to the doctor when you would for the flu. Life goes on.

About the only thing I'm doing differently right now is wiping the registers at work with saniwipes more often. I work fast food..and with money..I already wash my hands 3000 times a day and use gallons of sanitizer... I can't decide if I'm at higher risk due to coming into contact with people (and their dirty money!) who are too sick to come inside (oh yes, this happens..you have no idea how many people suggest I wash my hands because they're very sick....gah.....stay home!) or if I'm at lower risk because I know I'm at risk and wash my hands all the time.

I can't stress enough about hand washing and how it's the best thing to combat this illness.

However, unless I was at risk for serious complications, going to the doc would be the last thing I'd do. If one is infected, they put everyone, including those that are high risk, in danger of getting sick as well.

If one is sick, stay home.

What she said. Cuz English is obviously an easier language for her than me. lol Stay home unless you truly need medical attention. Fingernails turning blue cuz you can't breathe? Yeah, might be a good time to get some medical attention. Body aches and fever? Eh...you'll live. Go to bed and sleep. Keep your germs at home!

LOL!

In addition, looking up stats from the CDC on deaths related to influenza....interestingly enough, they claim that from 1979-2001, there were over 40,000 deaths a year in the US alone! That's over 100 deaths a day!!

So why are we suddenly panicked over swine flu??

I'm reading Psalm 91 aloud and claiming it for me and my family! "No plague shall come nigh my dwelling."

Re: Swine Flu - What you can do.

One case of probable swine flu and a school will close for a week. Have four kids from different schools and you close down four schools for a week. Yes, this is happening everywhere. Ridiculous. And a waste of taxpayer monies as well.
