Re: The Lord Called Them Home
I believe we should preserve life, nevertheless, ultimately life AND death are in the hands of God.

Simply put, I believe God is in control of my life - including the moment of death. Not that he absolutely predestines and causes death, but he allows or does not allow. I find comfort in knowing he controls not only my destiny, but my journey.

Okay...I can't argue with that. But my question was not "what is your belief" but what is your "believe based on."
Is it just your arbitrary view of life and what you concluded or are you basing it on scripture, a vision you had, something Grandpa George told you? What is the basis that brought you to this conclusion?

Well Glory, if I thought it was clearly addressed in scripture i would be posting those scriptures... I guess it mostly comes from real life experiences and finding the better ways to comfort those who mourn.
To be clear, I think scripture does teach our obligation to protect human life, so that rules out intentional stupidity and careless endangerment of lives - including our own. At the same time I think we have all been there... some of us got lucky, or perhaps it was not our time to go? I dunno.
