I look at AFF a little like I look at the Good Samaritan. Sure, he may have been a little scruffy and looked down upon by the more upstanding citizens of his day, but in the end HE was the one to lend a helping hand and show REAL "holiness" in the form of compassion.

While I may wear pants and trim my hair I do have long hair (my husband says that if I have short hair I should wear a veil to church--that is his view on 1 Cor)

I do not wear clothes that have a low neck line or that are too tight nor do I wear anything above my knees

I don't smoke or drink (need to take care of our temple and it's not a good witness)

I don't wear pierced ear rings but will wear clip if I want too-usually don't though (thing about not piercing or tattooing our bodies--not a good witness)

We do not have cable or network tv but we do watch video's--we pre-screen all video's and will stop watching any that we would not watch in front of our children and will thrown them away--no bad language, etc. My husband just bought me all 8 seasons of the Walton's for mothers day--love it.

I believe that home life is very important and will not let my 15 yr old go running around all the time--bed time is as close to 9:00 as possible for him and for the two little ones it is 8:00. We read a chapter in the Bible everynight and discuss- than say a prayer.

We do everything possible to all eat at the table everyday together.

We monitor all internet activity.

We don't like to eat the foods that God said for the Isrealites not to eat in the old testament--we figure if it was bad for them then it is bad for us too. We will eat it every once in a while because we don't want to offend others.

My son is in the Band at school and I would let him play sports if he wanted to. During football season we go to home games on Friday night to watch him in the band.

We don't think that how many times we attend church determines our salvation.

Actually we try to live by the principles that are through out the whole Bible--We firmly believe that that is God's way.

So, do you have ANY standards at all?

I do have One standard His name is Jesus, this is the standard that I am measured by. So far I have come up short.

Just because someone doesn't live up to your "standards" does not mean they have no standards at all - get over yourself.

I think our daily life speaks for itself....People generally KNOW if we really are christians...

True christians...wear sandles, robes, men wear beards....I KNOW I saw it in a Bible story book...Pictures of the disciples...lol...

Do I have standards? Yes. Most would probably consider me a conservative.

I uphold all Biblical standards, I also live my personal convictions, which I think are different than Biblical standards. However, I don't look at someones outward appearance to judge saved or not. I have seen that happen too often w/ people, while someone outwardly may look holy; their inside may be just plain ugly.

If you are talking holiness standards, I think holiness begins and ends @ the heart. As a man thinketh....

For curiosity sake, as for your list, I would say yes to all but two.

Living a life that is pleasing to God is my standard. Cultural standards are always changing, but God remains the same.

Are we defined by what we DON'T do, or by what ACTUALLY do?

IMO, It's a very negative life to always be concerned about what you don't do.
