I don't like the tone of my responses to you.
In a way, I thought I'd try to be abrasive just for the sake of being abrasive-- but it never bodes well with me to do so.
I apologize for my tone towards you.
However, for the record, Senator Boxer was right for correcting Brigadier General Walsh.
Brigadier General Walsh's mistake was a simple mistake, but his rank and his salary is too high for such mistakes as this.
I am sure he is professionally embarassed-- and he should be.

nope, I am a SGT and that's why you should trust me in this situation.
In this case, I know what's right.
The Senator was right and she was not rude or unprofessional towards the BG.
What he meant and what was proper are two different things.
Yes we are trained to say, "Ma'am and Sir" , but boot camp (OCS) was a long time for this BG.
I am sure he has learned a lot more along the way-- like the proper way to address a U.S. Senator.

As far as appropriate, I was speaking of what she said and being a SGT does not make you an expert on what is rude or unprofessional. I thought the way she handled it, particularly with the attitude of working hard to get that title as opposed to working hard FOR US,,,said it all

Agreed.
I was speaking on the fact that she was right in correcting him.
I missed what she said about working hard for that title as opposed to working hard for us. Quite revealing indeed. Unfortunately, I think there are far too many career politicians-- she's one of them.
