ALL the early Christians in the Bible had been baptized in Jesus Name read the Book of Acts. NOT ONE person since Pentecost has had their sins remitted without being baptized in Jesus Name.

What verse says the Phillipian jailer was baptized in Jesus name? Feel free to use the KJV.

Re: Doctrinal Conference 2009 (Atlanta West)
Answer the question directly. At best you have to assume they were baptized in Jesus name because the Bible doesn't say.
Where does it explicitly say what the Phillipian Jailer heard as he was being baptized?
Where does it say what Phillip said when he baptized the ethiopian eunich?
You made a bold statement that EVERYONE in the Bible was baptized in the Name of Jesus. Then you backpeddle like a politician when called out.
I mentioned two cases where it doesn't mention what was said over the person. Since you were not there, and no documentation was preserved, at best you can make a somewhat educated assumption.
I know how to get you out of the little puddle you created with the broad assumptions. But you are the self perceived genius on everything holy and sacred. You'll figure it out.

Epley makes a reasonable conclusion here based upon what evidence we have, IMHO. But without the specificity that you are requiring I think we should be gracious toward those sincere Christians who differ on this subject.
That is the next reasonable conclusion I'm looking for Bro. Epley to make.

The PATTERN is clear the command Mt. 28:19, Luke 24:47
the practice Acts 2:38, 8;12,8:16, 10:48, 19:5, 22:16
The inferences in the Epistles Rom. 6;3, Gal. 3:27, 1Cor 6:11.
The Apostles were NOT like false teachers today who did one thing in one city and another way in another city.
There are NO Christians who have not been baptized in Jesus Name!

... what about being filled with the Holy Ghost as evidenced by speaking in other tongues? Are there (or were there ever) any Christians who did not experience this?

I love this multi quote feature. This is the quote I asked Epley about. Notice the backpeddling.

Epley starts out by suggesting every scripture indicates everyone was baptized in Jesus name. Now if you read his recent post, he backtracks and says a pattern suggestthe pattern is clear. In reality, in a few situations, we have to assume that is the case.
I agree with the assumptions that the examples I mentioned were baptized in Jesus name. I will not misrepresent scripture by saying that scripture says everyone was baptized in Jesus name. Pardon me for being too honest in religion. I refuse to manipulate words to suggest the Bible says something it doesn't.
There are other ways to prove the need for baptism other than suggesting the Bible says EVERYONE was baptized in Jesus name, when it doesn't say so.
