Where am I supposed to disagree with you?
Everyone does have standards.
To use an automobile analogy. Everyone has a car, but not everyone is trying to force you to drive a car like theirs.
Your car may be a 4 speed. Mine may be a 5 speed. Another, an automatic. Cars come in all colors, shapes and sizes. Some are two doors, others are 4 doors. Some vehicles have sliding doors. With all the differences, a car still has common components that move the car. Using the same analogy, I don't mind what type of vehicle you drive. We'll get along as you do not judge others who don't have the same taste as you.
I think it is possible one of the signs of standard worship is how one with a certain standard judges one with a different standard.
For the most part a moderate/liberal mindset acknowledges there are many different interpretations on non salvational issues. Unfortunately the legalist mindset is that which refuses to acknowlege many of his/her personal beliefs are subjective.
Everyone better have a personal standard. I have not nor will I try to impose my personal convictions as part of the salvation package. That is legalism.

The problem is when people start worshipping the standard and not God.........
I dont worship my standards, but I am thankful that HE has placed in my life certain desires and longings.......if you cannot understand that then we must not be worshipping the same God - Yes they are a part of my salvation package (as you call it), but I promise you this, it is HIM that I am worshipping and it is HIM that I long to please............ actually no one or nothing else matters to me -
Be Blessed.......
