Here is another serious question. If a woman has a husband who has been looking at porn....does she have biblical grounds for divorce and remarriage?
Looking at porn is the same as adultery, the scripture teaches if a husband or wife comitts adultery and don't repent(stop It) you must divorce them.If he commits adultery and you know it,it makes you an adultress.
If we are joined to a harlot we are one. That makes both a harlot and if a person is married to a harlot that makes Jesus a harlot because we are also joined to Jesus. If a person is married to a harlot, you must divorce him or her unless the person repents and stays repented.
1 Cor.6:15: Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of a harlot? God forbid.
16: What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17: But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18: Flee fornication. (Adultery) Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commiteth fornication (adultery) sinneth against his own body.
19: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20: For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's
I think the main thing we need to look at here is who God has joined together? If people are not saved, then they are not joined together by God, then God didn't join them. Note verse 9 also, you commit adultery when you remarry only if you divorce for any other reason then adultery.
Math.19:2: And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
3: The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
4: And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5: And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6: Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
7: They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9: And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, (adultery) and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery
I'm still fuming over the events on the "Replacing Jesus" thread.
Get er done!
Yes, it did take a bad turn, but I think it would have taken some strong understanding and insight to even post on that thread. There are some things that should be discussed, but you can't just through out words - you have to stop and think.
Not much different, IMO, than a man having an anger issue with his wife. I have a great amount of respect for someone who is fighting to over come and may stumble. Hopefully they are moving in the right direction and are having less and less falls. For every man who has the integrity and honesty to admit his struggle and trust someone to tell them when he falls for accountability there are a hundred or maybe even a thousand who are just "quietly" in bondage.
I have worked with men who have admitted addiction to porn. I have never judged them and have only had compassion and told them that they needed to fight the good fight to be free from domination. I have always encouraged them to know that they can be free and that I will be their chief "cheerleader" and supporter. I have rarely been let down.

I'm thankful that you are not my pastor. I'm also thankful that you are not responsible in any way for teaching me about the Bible and Jesus Christ.

It's kinda like Chan's insistance that if a divorced person remarries, if they are really repentent they will divorce their second spouse, break up the family (ignoring the effect on any children) and return to the original spouse.

Does the Bible teach that you must divorce the person?

I disagree. Just because a man is one with his wife doesn't mean the man's sins become the wife's sins. It also doesn't make Jesus (our betrothed husband) a harlot if we are joined to one.

It still doesn't say Jesus is a harlot or that the wife of an adulterer is a harlot based on her husband's adultery.

Well, no, the scripture below doesn't say "adultery," it says (in the KJV) "fornication," which is any illicit sexual intercourse according to the Greek word used there.
