I almost got socked by Sis. Pelathais...

Pelathais I accidentially called your wife by her maiden name on Saturday, I saw my life pass in front of me (really, I felt like an idiot) when she said, I've only been (Sis. Pelathais) for 26 (I think) years!! You have to member, I knew everyone before they were married and unfortuntely haven't talked to many of them at any length since...

So, tell her I repent.

You are not the only one to have ever called someone by their maiden name- I am guilty and I think that person was married for 30yrs.

Almost all of my Apostolic friends still call me my maiden name - and we've been married for 24 years.

Many of them came to our wedding - and tons of them have been in our home, some even stayed here several times. But they still think of me as Margie (maiden name). Go figure!

But it's ok. I love them anyway

I still call people I grew up with by their first name even though they are pastors and such but only because I knew them while they couldn't even wipe their noses...sigh' I feel really old...

I still get called by my maiden name. I did not take it back in the divorce by choice to remain the same as my children. I have now been Lisa Taylor the exact same time as I was my maiden name. (21 years)

Even while I was married, my husband's family called me by my maiden name often, even from the pulpit calling on me to sing or something.

It doesn't bother me, I respond to both names, as it is my legal middle name.

Carp... we are all getting old.

My madien name rarely crosses my mind. Not many in this area know me as(madien name) except a few in laws(maybe).

Sssokay, I remember back in the day when I used to have to call Sis. Carpenter any time I needed money or to get permission from "the Old Man" to have a party some place.

It's good to have friends.
