Re: GNCM Conference @ Christ Church Nashville

Sherri, sorry to hear about your misfortune today in the rain! At least you two had a fun time!

I agree that the "feel" of the service was much different than Global services that I have attended in the past. Everyone seemed very humble and I got this feeling that something great is about to happen with this group of men.

I could tell that the group is more "pentecostal" than in years past.

I was thinking about how this group is going opposite of the trend. The trend today is preachers segmenting more and more on sometime trivial issues. This group is being inclusive instead of exclusive.

This group is trying to go back to fellowshipping the way it was right after Azuza St., before differences became the focus instead of what we all had in common.

God hasn't forgotten - The deal is still on!!!

So folks were laying in the floor speaking in tongues and running and shouting all over the place like Azusa?

There was no running the isles or jumping pews going on at the Global Conf. There was lots of prayer noise and preachers with their face in the carpet.

We didn't know what else to do, and we couldn't get ahold of our husbands, who were being holy and actually were in church.

Plus we were in a rental car. Finally we called Enterprise and they had us call AAA and they came and put on this scrawny little donut tire for a temporary fix.

All in all, we had a great time in Nashville! I think next year it will be at Christ Life Church in Phoenix!
I hope it does come to the valley so we can go! CLC's a great church.

What's the deal? God's always good to keep his side of the bargain.

The altar was packed with men & women crying out to God, weeping, laying hands on one another, speaking in tongues etc.

No one was running around, but I don't think you'll find that in ANY "service" recorded in the book of Acts or "falling out in the Spirit" for that matter either.

I believe in those things and they happen from time to time @ NLC, but it is not a formula or goal to be sought after.

Elder, even you would have received an encouraging word from both Tommy Barnett and Jack Hayford. Their "words" were timely, prophetic & inspiring. Their messages brought us to our knees, faces and tears.

I don't like religious "fluff" and I can guarantee you that this conference was not a "fluff" conference. I don't know what they have been like in the past because I have never attended. I only just joined because I am one of the founding members of Global Asia along with David Banta who really started it. We already have over 200 ministers in Global Asia w/ 10 (oneness) Bible schools in China alone.

If this conference is any indicator of things to come, then I am excited about the future. I am still not an "organizational" man, but if I can be a part of something where I can make a difference, that's where I want to be!
