Have you never heard the word "colorful" used in such a context either? "He had a colorful language!" Literature. It's from literature. It may be cultural, slang, etc... but it's a quite common usage of a word.

yes, I've heard colorful used that way.
My response was to the person who asked what you meant and was an attempt at humor.
I did not mean to offend you or to pick on your word use.

Well, I am old. I'll be 72 in December.

I think I'm more cynical than sinister.

Doesn't sinister mean "left handed" in French? or Latin?
