Re: Church Boards,Pluses and Minuses.

Pastors cannot be expected ot be knowledgable in all areas of anything. It seems stupid therefore to not have more than one man at the "top" to lead a church.

Not all men are great counsellors. So why would a Pastor without that talent not let another man in the church who is skilled at it take the position of counselling saints? Not all Pastors are good teachers. Many can do littl emore than scream and allegorically preach. No expository or teaching talent in them at all. Why wouldn't they then have enough brains to let anothe rman skilled at teaching have position and authority to teach? Why not use the men in the church who have the talents one doesn't have?

Answer: Because we have taught Pastors wrongly that only one man leads the church. "There can only be one head". Thats true....it's Jesus, not the Pastor. So why not have more than one Pastor when multiple men have different skills and talents that can make the church better?

Is it pride? Power hunger? Fear of trying something new? Tradition? I dont' know.
