Re: Have You Done ML Marketing?

I hate all of it, I am not a big fan of sales people in general, but certainly not in these things. I have signed up for several under pressure from friends and relatives, never made my investment money back, mostly because I refuse to do to others what was done to me.

We actually had some people at our church stand outside the church doors handing out fliers, until the ushers caught them, lol!

Not says the Kirby folks lol

I was gonna sell them. I was in training and I really didn't feel like the guy trained me well enough. The last time we went out the sale was so hard the dude was sweating.

I gave up after that. I'd rather try to sell bottled water to dolphins

Re: Have You Done ML Marketing?

Has anyone ever been approached by someone involved with ACN?

Their main product is a phone that you can use to see the people you are talking with, using high speed internet.

There are other things too.

Is there anyone here who has made a significant amount of cash in any MLM?

I know of none personally.

I've grown up with this stuff but in my years of pastoring, it's never been an issue until fairly recently. We've been pretty immune from it until Mona Vie hit the scene.

We have a policy regarding home groups: NO selling whatsoever! Can't really regulate/police conversations at church, but I don't use church relationships for business things and I guess people just follow suit for the most part. I talk about relationships being more important that business or money and I hope it gets through!

Yep... I am NOT a salesman in the least. I don't have the personality for it. I am shy (go figure)... I can't push things on people. I just don't have what it takes to pressure people into something.

This is off topic... but I find that the majority of preachers make great salesmen. Does anybody find that to be so?

I find that to be so in most cases... I also find it a little disturbing.

Re: Have You Done ML Marketing?

I've read somewhere that there are more Pentecostal and Charismatic's involved in ML Marketing than any other group of people.... that's a sad thing...

I totally agree, but I'm not bothered by it. I think it goes with the territory....the job description. Every time I step in the pulpit (well, I don't use one, actually) I'm speaking in order to develop buy-in...convince....persuade. It's the same thing a salesman does.

It's easy for some ministers to take those developed skills into the market place and sell things.

Which really, makes me all the more aggravated at ministers who do MLMing. I think they're taking advantage of people in the congregation.

When a translation of the bible is released that includes the epistle I've written, it will be in the bible that all ministers are forbidden to do MLMing!

I've been in pentecostalism and now outside pentecostalism.....and I would agree. I've seen much more MLMing in pentecostal/charismatic circles.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that Rodney Howard Brown is now a major pitchman for Mona Vie. I just can't imagine W.A. Criswell ever doing that.

I almost never watch TBN but when I flip through, I've often seen different ones peddling vitamins.
