Here is a theory for you to disregard completely. I think OSU and other Big 10 teams have problems in bowl games vs. the SEC because SEC teams are built to play in the nice southern weather or the domes in which all the big games are played. They are the Ferraris of college football. Superior breakneck speed. The Big Ten teams are built for the snow, the ice, the rain and the mud that we enjoy here in the midwest. They are College Football's Hummers. On a nice, dry, straight, paved highway, the Ferrari leaves the Hummer sitting every time, but in the icy, snowy mudbogs, the Hummer is victorious, and the Ferrari is probably unrepairable. I say we start having National Championship games in Lambeau Field or Foxboro Stadium, and see how quickly the tables are turned. This could just be my excuse for some sad performances, but it has helped me sleep at night the past few years.
