The bible is very clear about church attendance, blame the preacher all you want but you should be actively looking for a new church home if you cant submit to the one you currently have or had.....To just not go, well, that's on you and it's wrong.......it's far more than a pastor asking his saints to not wear a moustache or short sleeves on the platform.

We all draw our lines in the sand at different points, who cares if some are more conservative than others? Is it REALLY that big of a deal?? You are a grown person, if you dont agree, the pastor isnt going to whip you or hang you from the highest tree at sunset, you just probably wont be on the platform. So?? And if the pastor is some kind of tyrant, well find another one...but get off your butt and LOOK for one!. Stop sitting back and making excuses.

Wonder how long someone would stay employed at McDonalds if they refused to wear that USELESS visor?
I would ask:

What dictates "church"? What is a "pastor"? What is "ministry"?

I'm not -- you want to make certain proclamations, I merely wanted to know what your concept of these things are.

I have figured it out and I am doing something. The thing is that you and I will not agree as to what these things are. And, frankly, neither of us are wrong.

I never said you were wrong..I never said I disagreed with whatever you are doing...

I said folks should be doing SOMETHING...not just sitting back complaining and talking about how their former pastor/church/organization was so wrong. So? Maybe they were, then do something else.

from what I gather from the original post, you are not in the group she's talking about....

Now that kind of thinking and suggestion is fine and dandy for mature christians that set their focal view vertically and fix their eyes on Christ and not horizontally on man....

...but that does diddly for newborn babes in the LORD who need to be caressed, wooed and nurtured. You cannot fit these things all in a box...more wisdom is necessary to know how to respond...you can respond one way with a mature believer if they are your only audience in any given moment but must respond differently and be mindful when newborn babes are in the midst. Wisdom, for sure, is the key ingredient in matters like these....

Even newborn believers can hear and follow God, if they will simply seek His direction. Better to start out right than to become dependent on those that have the own agenda, rather than the Lord's. But of course in proper context I certainly agree with what you have said.

I think in all things that requires growth, mentorship is expedient to that end. And with regards to leading flock, it is incumbent on leaders to care after Christ's sheep as Christ mentioned to Peter...it is a high responsibility and leaders need to be very mindful and not take it lightly or act haphazardly. Newborn believers, more often than not, need and depend on good mentorship...
