I didn't attend the opening ceremonies, I went to my local Community Centre where they had a gigantic screen & they fed us with food, hot chocolate, & then had draws to win prizes.
My oldest won a book on Vancouver.
Funny thing is this, on the other side of the community centre is a new ice rink that was built by Vanoc & it is behind chain link fence & heavy police security as figure skating pairs are practicing thier routines there.
