If the NHL played at the 1980 Olympics would it still be a miracle?
It is supposed to be about "amateur sports" not "Pro's"
Is getting 14 Golds which is a record for any nation nice? I guess, but is it really earned when NHL guys bring it home?
The Russians are having a hissy fit & cross the Canada/US border people are trading barbs about the prowess of thier athletes.
That can't please God.
Remember, we in Vancouver will still be paying for this when most of you retire!
What did you think of the games?
PS Congrats to the US for winning all those medals.

I thought it was a great Olympic year, I thought Canada did wonderful, and I am super proud of America, we broke the Winter Olympics record for most medals won by a country! Pretty cool!
And, I am apparently a racist (tic!) I am not real fond of Russians at this point in time...

The Russians are ticked off because they can't play their pros against our amateurs like it was when they dominated the Olympics.

Well, they have certainly showed an overall lack of good sportsmanship throughout the games. I'm amazed, apparently they do not have the ability to be embarrassed by their lack of goodwill, I guess I will just have to be embarrassed for them!

Ditto!
Loved the games!!! Everything was great!!! Loved the Four-Man Bobsled race. So glad that Steve Holcomb was able to get a gold medal. He was suffering from degenerative eye disease and almost had to give up the sport. But, he had surgery and is fine.
I was very happy that the USA put the Hockey game into overtime. It made the loss a little more bearable. We were almost home when they tied it up. I jumped out of the car and ran into the house to watch the remainder of the game. Wish I would have stayed in the car! LOL!

The other reason the Russians are ticked off is because of their big mouths..stating that they were going to win 40 medals at the Olympics. Sounds like they should read a little Aesop:
"The Milkmaid and Her Pail." Patty, a farmer's daughter, is daydreaming as she walks to town with a pail of milk balanced on her head. Her thoughts: "The milk in this pail will provide me with cream, which I will make into butter, which I will sell in the market, and buy a dozen eggs, which will hatch into chickens, which will lay more eggs, and soon I shall have a large poultry yard. I'll sell some of the fowls and buy myself a handsome new gown and go to the fair, and when the young fellows try to make love to me, I'll toss my head and pass them by." At that moment, Patty tossed her head and lost the pailful of milk. Her mother admonished, "Do not count your chickens before they are hatched."
Pride goeth before destruction, an haughty spirit before a fall. This is exactly what happened to Russia at the Olympics.
