Re: Holiness Swim Wear

I am curious as to why a group of holiness apostolics would make fun of ladies who are trying to maintain their standards of modesty? This is strange.

No one is.

And let's get real here. If you are a genuine, committed, absolute stickler for modesty at all times, in all situations... swimming period is not modest, no matter what you're wearing. Water makes whatever you are wearing cling to your body.

I, for one, never said that I wasn't bashing. Because I am doing exactly that!

For any liberal that the shoe fits, PUT IT ON!

If you fit the description of a LIB that whines and cries about how they are treated by CONS or even moderates for that matter, and then you turn around and do and say the exact same things, you are no better, no different and you need a box of tissues for your issues!

I do and will ride a log ride any ole time I want to, wearing anything I so choose just like the rest of you. In fact, I've even been parasailing in Sandusky Ohio and it was wonderful!

Where do some of you get off telling people what they can wear and where they can go based on apparel?

I have friends on here that are very liberal. I don't judge and criticize them and they don't judge and criticize me. They don't run around making a mockery of my beliefs and practices and I don't make a mockery of their beliefs and practices.

But this nonsense on this forum is going way overboard. Its one thing to discuss matters and another to make a mockery.

Yes, I have retaliated and should not be doing so. I don't want to come here and read mockery...and its not just apparel thats been/being mocked.

To my liberal friends, please excuse me. I'm just disgusted with a few and those few are not you.

LadyRev is great - just comes boiling out when she needs to.

She does have a point when she said, and this is not against PowerUp, "Where do some of you get off telling people what they can wear and where they can go based on apparel?"

I don't think some realize that, as they are criticizing the Conservatives, they are doing the same thing they accuse the Conservatives of doing - forcing a dress code. LOL! Hilarious!

Her comments go along with Bratti's, which I totally agree with:

Not quite the same. Libs don't tell conservatives that they'll go to hell for swimming in blue jeans. They (some) just think it looks odd and can be unsafe.

There is a bit of a difference.

I agree, on your point, that there is a "bit" of a difference. In ridicule and judgment, it's the same, IMO.

We have several churches in our city that are much more strict than we are. One thing I would never do is criticize them for what they believe. They sincerely believe that how they live is how God wants them to live. They sincerely feel that what they believe is what God wants them to believe. I would not touch that for the world. I know that the Word is true - "They that hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled." I don't have to stress over what other churches teach or how people choose to live. Birds of a feather will flock together. If I have a sincere relationship with God, He won't leave me and will forever lead and guide me - even unto death.

I am all for coming here, voluntarily, to discuss our views and interpretation of scripture - to debate the merits. I am not for coming here and saying, as PowerUp has done, "Thank You!!! My point exactly. Drives me nuts when people say they are a witness by doing such!!! Wouldn't bring me to Christ!!! Stay at home!!!

Yes, he has agonized over that statement, but it was said and we must use the example because of the direction of the conversation. So sorry, PowerUp. Fair game! LOL!

That, IMO, is interfering in another person's personal business, beliefs and life. It is not discussing the merits of Biblical interpretation and I think that is what LadyRev and Abigail (by their quotes) have issue with. Both of their posts were from the heart and well done. We speak of being respectful to both sides, but we are not doing that in practice. Some of the things written on this thread are proof enough. I think we could do better, but we have discussed doing better since FCF and are still talking of doing better. I believe we may possibly be on a Merry-go-round. I wish the person turning it would stop so that we could all get off. LOL!
