Yeah, if you're not praying for your church, then you're contributing to the problems.

If you're not praying for your Pastor, don't bother saying amen when he preaches!

I mean, you're a con, look at the church you're leaving! Surely, you're not going to tell me you fast and prayed and God told you to give up on these folks!

You're not telling me that God told you to, "Leave them alone!! My Grace is not enough for them any longer!"

No!

You (cons) leave because you don't have enough passion and maybe even faith to make a difference any more, so you blame others for your unhappiness!

You use spiritual terms to hide behind your laziness and your "set in your ways" selves!

SO LEAVE!!!!!!!!

But when you find your next church home, why not pray for somebody before you decide that these folks aren't holy enough for your liking!!!Some of the folks who do the most criticizing, "... haven't spoke in tongues since 'Smoky' was a pup."

quotation courtesy of my Pastor,
who happens to pastor a church where the older saints are respected and loved and the younger saints are encouraged to reach their generation using methods that will reach their generation in an atmosphere where this generation will experience the infilling of the Holy Ghost because (in part) the older saints are teaching the younger saints how to pray and worship and seek the face of God.

Imagine that!

A church where everyone finds their place of duty within the local church body where God has called them, instead of waiting for some honorary assignment in a morgue where they will be revered as they rot!!!
Wow, I'm trying to figure out where you're at......Lot's of finger pointing here, and claims that "Your" Church has got it all figured out...So, do you go around with a score card and record who's speaking in tongues and who isn't?

I'm just a little troubled with people being so straightforward, no matter which side of the fence they are on. I've pastored for 14 years and appreciate when people pray for me, but I don't like it when people over-do it. I'm just a man. Please, don't play the card of "Praying for me" until worship is going in the wrong direction.

After 31 years of hearing the demanding, dogmatic preaching that leads people to "All Hail" the man of God, to be quite frank, this has led to a sick relationship between saints and the Pastor.

I beat my chest just like any other sinner who needs God's grace. I don't want to be to harsh, but you make it obvious that you carry a chip on your shoulder. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. JC

You know I love you bro, right?

I do not claim my church has it all right. I do affirm that my church has an awesome mixture of growing saints and firmly established older very conservative saints that have found a places of work and influence. When I am considered an old conservative saint, the last thing I'd want to do is leave a place I've called home-- unless they sink into apostasy.

Somethings only change through fasting and prayer.

If a church is going in the wrong direction, the leadership should encourage the "seasoned saints" to stand in the gap for that church and for that Pastor.

Encouraging folks to leave a church because things aren't going the way they like is a bad thing to do-- especially if we're talking stuff that is not "cut and dry".

I don't think I've presented myself as a person with a chip on my shoulder.

When I understood what PM was saying, and as I look back on some of the negative attitudes that some of the "cons" have, and as I ponder that they would NOT just leave a website, but leave their home church just because things aren't going the way they like, I was stirred on the inside.

Just think! If all of the conservative saints that love the Lord and know how to worship and know how to pray and have the wisdom and are able to express that wisdom-- if they all were encouraged to leave your church, wouldn't that upset you?

Now for the ones who would leave, I question their love for God and for the Body of Christ-- if their reason for leaving their church is something that is not cut and dry.

Why couldn't PM "SOUND THE ALARM" for the older saints, for the conservative saints, to pray for their fellowship-- locally and globally?

The ones who are inclined to leave will leave anyway!

We should be encouraging folks who know, to do what they know.

I am not being unmerciful.

Those who would leave their church without a good Biblically sound reason are the ones who are ultimately being unmerciful.

Re: Perspectives Sounding Social Network Alarms

I believe I have attacked the message.

The messenger, in this case PM, though I respect what I know about him, should not be encouraging division, should not be encouraging people to leave the churches they have called home for many years. He should have never communicated anything that would lead folks in that direction because it does NOTHING for the unity of the Body of Christ within our fellowship.

Those cons, who adhere to a message that maybe should never have been communicated, regardless of their motive, won't they be doing the same thing that they criticize other people in other Christian fellowships and denominations? You know those other folks who are "sincerely lost"?

After all, many Methodists are only adhering to a message that should have never been communicated-- if indeed the Methodists are in soul-damning error....

IMO, the cons who are willing to leave their church over the petty are the same ones who point fingers at others and declare their salvation to be a farce. The fact is, that its that same judgmental spirit that is void of love that will lead a con to leave their church over something that the Bible is not 100% clear on instead of praying for the chruch and their Pastor.
