I disagree, removing things can often times solve a person's problem. Maybe not the ultimate problem, but you let me know when you have that one nailed down tight.

Deeper issue to lust? It's called sin! It's called flesh! Not going to the counsel of the wicked, standing in the way of sinners, hanging out in the tents of the harlot, all of those will keep one from falling. Like any safeguard -- from a helmet to a bullet-proof vest, they only guarantee a form of protection. You aren't invincible.

How does one struggling with pornography handle the deeper issue? Would you really suggest they not change up their routine and habits?

Your response is interesting to me. You seem to think people can have perfect victory in the Spirit over something like, let's just say, lust. Really, NOW? I know you're a man, so let's really think about that one a minute.

How would you counsel a young man coming to you with sex and porn addictions?

GET HIMSELF A COMPUTER AND TV!!!! just kidding... and I know this is too serious to kid about. But I couldn't help myself! Is that what you're talking about? "I couldn't help myself???"

BT...that post wasn't completely mine. The words you highlighted were Jeffrey's. He spliced up a post and didn't do a good job of it so it's confusing. I'm gonna have to send Jeffrey to EB's school of post-splicing.

It always amazes me what some are willing to do for a few hundred bucks! But my point was more toward their outward appearance! Although its not Bible the old saying "you cant judge a book by its cover" seems more accurate to me the older I get!

From the looks of it, we may need to attend together. Hey fifth year seniors are cool.

Now allstate1 you keep confusing me! And that's not hard to do, you understand! How many hundred bucks did you give the lady with black hair?

Friend request accepted.
If you're consistent, yes, you're a rare bird. The problem I've always experienced is a complete hypocrisy in the selection of "standards." For example, it's wrong to attend a major league baseball game, but it's ok to listen to one on the radio. That's ridiculous. If it's wrong, it's wrong. There was a certain General Superintendent who would do everything he could to listen to a Cubs game on the radio. But attend? Oh no....sin!

I got tired of the sham and hit the trail.

I said "Spend" rather than "send".

I've been here close to a year and I still don't know how to splice up a post. At least you tried!

Saying you won't change your mind is a direct sign of being young, which is OK, because I and everyone else said the same things at your age.

Lack of experience has been, will be, and is a person’s downfall when it comes to expertise on anything. Only through the trials of life do we gain understanding. Whether you’re a mechanic, a doctor, or a Christian, after time is conquered and broken knuckles are scarred by many attempts to fix things, the heart slowly begins to see the way of man.

Yes, my friend, you will change your mind. When a few decades pass, you will be shocked at the change in you and others. I don’t say this to belittle you. It’s just the plain truth.
I understand your point and I agree to a certain extent. I will change my mind on many issues. I shouldn't have mentioned my age, because people seem to keep picking at that. Have you ever read the book of Job? Compare the words of Elihu to those of his elders. Just because I'm young, doesn't mean that I don't have something important to say.
