What's prohibited on NotofWorks Friends Forum is name-calling. Stating that someone illustrated blithering stupidity is NOT name-calling. I don't believe "Standards" is stupid.

I did report your post. I think it was mean spirited, and I think you intended it to be that way. You owe Standards an apology--especially since he quickly retracted HIS statement and apologized per your *ahem* gentle insistence.

I disagree with your definition of name-calling. Calling someone stupid can be done outright or it can be done cleverly. It's a deliberate insult either way.

No, I owe no apology to "Standards." He's not even real. He's a caricature of an ultra-con and posts under several IDs, including "Proudparent." I've apologized many times on this forum and I have no problem doing so when I'm wrong or have been offensive. That's not the case here.

If you think I'm seriously sitting here getting worked up about him using the Q-word, you don't know me very well. He was making a caricature point, and I was taking advantage of it and made a point that I thought may help educate those who aren't "Up" on the latest offensive lingo. Maybe others don't care....that's their business....but there are many who go to very great lengths to stay as far away as possible from terminologies that would be hurtful. The Q-word has become highly offensive and when used by a Heterosexual, is virtually never said in kindness. Let's face it...the loud person is heard and in a figurative "Loud" way, I denounced the caricatures use of the word so that I could help any who are interested in being sensitive, to be aware of a word that can get someone in trouble with someone you may be trying to reach with the love of Christ.

I've raged about things like "The short bus". I think it's crazy to use lingo like that. Why? What if you were joking with another mom at a little league game and said that....AND, her other child was in special education? What would happen to the potential open door to share the love of Christ? It would be closed. Same with the Q-word. What she has a close person to her who is gay and you say, that guy at the soda machine was a Q____. You'd be done.

That's why I care.
