No braids?? Well, at least your consistent.
And what is "expensive clothing?" Do you wear a suit to church?

No more than a $60-$70 suit.
Jeffrey, I couldn't agree more about the inconsistency of ostentatiousness pentecost & the goofy hair-do's. It really irks me to see the inconsistencies, but would simply add that inconsistency is not tantamount to invalidation. For es., some claim repentance from dead works, yet we see fruit otherwise...does this mean that we should stop teaching repentance? Of course not. At the least we should agree that jewelry is not cast ina favorable light in the NT [or the OT in a literal ornamental sense].

Can you post a picture of how we should look to be saved?
Why even a suit? It represents richness, the fraud of Wall Street, and to the majority of the world is an excess?

Most of the time, when I preach I simply wear a white shirt [minus a tie when I can get away w/ it!] & slacks. I'm not there to look good...I'm there to see people transformed into the image of Christ!

Why even wear a suit though? The majority of the world considers it "costly array?"
I like your attitude of "not being there to look good" btw. I actually agree!
But what is not my intent or purpose doesn't necessarily mean I don't groom myself to look presentable.

Good to see that we can finally agree on something. I also believe that we need to look presentable. A $50 suit from Wal-mart does not qualify as "costly".

To who? The majority of the world? So you agree that there is a degree of cultural relativity used to define symbols?
And even if a guy paid $10 for an Armani suit he scored at a thrift store, it's still "costly array." Nor do I think a $50 suit from Walmart is presentable! lol
