That really only took a quick reply: "I was quite critical of LS. To see more here's the link from the LS thread"
My point is, you weren't there defending LS. That was my unspoken assumption as well.
So to Baron you asked what business of his is it where a man got his education from. But to LS, you were quite upset and questioned his motive. Inconsistent?

Not at all.
SEU is a diploma mill, South Africa is not.

Re: Get your Degree Today
I have answered your questions.
I have more important people to talk to now.
See ya.

Honestly, Mickey Mouse? No one would take that seriously. However, South Africa appears to be legit, even if it doesn't meet your approval.
I have a feeling the rush for degrees is a product of the heightened expectations of parishioners. The rules changed on my generation in the middle of the game. College was once considered a nice addition to a resume, now it's a requirement. Some men are well up in years, yet lack the necessary initials, so they take shortcuts. Unethical men will cheat to meet those expectations.

And DKB doesn't fall into this category?

I do not believe an educator should be held to a higher standard. You just contradicted yourself in the first thing you said.
The same standard of integrity should permeate every marketplace. Which is?

Seminary only matters to those who are educators and teachers? Then later you say it's the parishioners who have those expectations. Why do you think?
My question with Mickey Mouse vs. Yale Divinity wasn't really answered. Let's change Mickey Mouse to Charlie Brown University. Point being, does it matter for sake of credibility?
Do you prefer your leaders be educated in the subjects they teach? Do you appreciate that?

It's not a requirement. College is not a requirement for teaching the word of God.

What does it matter to you?
Didn't you base your criticism on the fact that you bust your butt and others are taking short-cuts? Would you believe that Diploma Mills aren't the only situation under the category "academic shortcuts?"
Is it important to you because the diploma mill isn't quality education or that it's fake? If only the latter, I don't understand your "shortcut" rant on LS.

Should it be?
Are the reasons why it should be? Should it be encouraged more?
How do modern, uneducated thinkers handle ancient text? Interpret 1st Century Romans letters? Understand basic theology? Understand Jewish influence on early Christianity? Toil through challenged positions, forced to defend or adapt? Do you think what is learned in the most remedial of Bible Schools is not profitable? If your whole life will be teaching something, and you have the ability to obtain a quality education on that something, why not?

If he were not PRESIDENT of a SEMINARY himself then perhaps not, but as GS, premiere apologist published by PPH AND PRESIDENT of the ONLY UPCI Seminary, then yes, yes he does!
