Too much shielding and protecting can backfire on you.

Yes indeed. Those that get no direction or education are the ones who have no idea how to respond to the changes and are trying to figure it out on their own.

Yes, this is what I am getting at. What if we are creating problems by overrestraint and guilt? When is enough enough?

I can say that I thought about sex much, much, more after I got into church and was taught all this stuff than before. Some was for good and some was for bad.
