Not the goats, the man. If a man wants to marry two goats, how do you argue against it under this ruling? Equal protection, what right do you have defining marriage as between two people?

Wouldn't have to examine the language of the relevant statutes in each state. In my state it specifically says "human beings" and "man" and a "woman." Thus, farm animals and wildlife are not allowed before the county clerk's desk. Nor, for that matter, are "same sex" couples.

That's my point. The judge has said California doesn't have the right to regulate "who" is married.

but who is to say that won't change either? Marriage has been redefined

It's not desperate or silly. It's just a progression of thought you don't want to consider.
Marriage in our society has always been defined as a man and a woman. Now it's being redefined to include same sex. Who is to say some won't try to redefine it again?

BTW do we know for a fact the judge was gay? Is so can't that be construed as a conflict of interest?

Would it be a conflict if he was straight? What about if he was Catholic? Or a member of the Christian Coalition?
