Have you ever seen where a preacher begins to preach about the wearing of jewelry and what it can do to a person and see someone get so mad that they storm out?

Or if someone loses their wedding band, their world crashes in?

We can get seriously attached to this stuff. No saying everyone is like this. My wife isn't. She has worn one off and on, with no problem.

Yeah, we should not get attached to material things (jewelry, TV, Internet...) else they become idolatrous. However, to say jewelry in and of itself is wrong without addressing the "heart issue" is where the problem would be, IMHO.

Both scriptures deal with both issues in 1 Timothy and in 1 peter 3.

Also good to note one deals with the marriage bond and the other in general.

Jewelry is pinpointed by the scripture, thats why its pinpointed by churches. and i totally agree we MUST address the heart too!
