The Old Testament also incites this behavior. Not just kill, but kill everything. Imagine the modern day Church under Old Testament Law; think about us stoning anyone found in adultery.
Religion is the "Spark" for most, if not all, Wars on this planet. When God is drawn into a man's corner, he feels justified to destroy those who disagree with, or disobey an opinion that they think is most definitely God's idea. Follow David or Saul down the road of slaughtering the “Heathens” or “Infidels” of that day.
Look at America. We put, "In God We Trust" on our money, and say, "One Nation Under God" in our pledge. When going to a battlefield, we take these with us for cause and security, giving us purpose to fire off another round or drop another bomb.
Whether we like it or not, the Bible is full of violence and murder. The Bible is also full of hope and forgiveness, which I imagine can be found in the Quran.
