So if Im following you correctly, youre sayin Peter gave them the spill about Joels prophesy and told them that they crucified the Lord(vs.36), then, they were pricked in their heart and basically at that point of being pricked in their heart, they received salvation(inclusive of the Spirit of Christ-Rom. 8:9?),

...and their reaction to Peters words to be baptised and that they would receive the promise of the Holyghost was post salvational?

The HS came at salvation because they are hand-in-hand, but the speaking in tongues is something that can be a product of the HS.
