That's what gets me, how some can read passages like this and still mistranslate passages to fit thier own narrow minded outlook. And put everyone not like them into hell. AH well I used to be one of them all I can say is "I did not understand" at least when I got ahold of some real meat of the word I grew out of the diapers, to nickers, then to real pants. LOL

There are rebellious people who have eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear no matter what God said about giving Israel jewels. Hearts that will stick to traditions more tenaciously than let the WORD teach them are committing the worst kind of idolatry. Twisting the word in order to retain their tradition. It's prideful. They do not want to admit error and have made their minds up to stick to what they already stated without ever having to say they were wrong. That puts SELF above the WORD. And it is exceedingly deceptive. The devil has too strong a hold on such people for anyone to get through to them. Some will only know when they stand before God, and then it will be too late.

Dust our feet off before such people. Cast no more pearls their way. We can get into trouble ourselves. The only thing left to do in such chats is say things for the benefit of the onlookers and readers who ARE open. Wasting time for those who tread the word underfoot is dangerous on our parts, too. Ezekiel 16 is WORD.

On brother, then according to this verse, can we be decked in jewels, including nose rings & teach others about modesty????????

The truth is Ezekiel 16 is true word from God and tradition is hindering you from reconciling that passage with the rest of the bible. False traditions make the bible seem contradictory, but true understanding reconciles the two so that, obviously, what is immodest to you is a mistaken version of immodesty. You are basing the Word on YOUR form of modesty, since the true form would not make a contradiction out of Ezekiel 16 like you try to make it.

Allowing the Word to teach us what true modesty is will not leave people making statements like you did, for you flatly are saying God contradicts Himself. It is not whether if the word contradicts what YOU THINK modesty means, but that your thoughts are disallowing the Word to not contradict itself. This shows you are not letting the Word form your opinions of modesty, but are reading it through lenses of preconceived, extrabiblical notions. You claim the plain reading of Ezekiel 16 contradicts your view of modesty. And you offer no alternative explanation. Go figure.

I see, I've been quoting Scripture for 108 pg.'s....but hey, I guess God-Breathed Scripture does not qualify as "alternative explanation." What's astounding here is that you take verses [from the OT], which would also justify being decked out in jewels from head to toe, & use them to override "not with gold jewelry, pearls,...." instructions to the NT church! Amazing....then wanna' chide me about the "plain reading" of the text??? See thyself..................
