Re: College Education an Entitlement?

Isn't it the policy of many nations that you can go to college for free, if you're smart enough to get into that college?

I think this would be the most appropriate way to do things, even here in the USA-- public and private schools alike.

Make college entrance more competitive and give everyone else access to other feasible options where they can still be productive members of our society.

Great post.

I would only say that I think that the private colleges should be able to charge what they wish - they are a privilege, not a right. I think eventually the free market would establish reasonable (whatever that means) prices for private education.

Schools are open. If you are smart enough, you can get accepted.

Should every one have car payments including those that don't have cars?
It is a right. Should everyone have a car even those that can't afford one?

We're not talking about cars. Are you interested in the discussion or just interested in rambling?

In over your head?

Good people pay their own way. Whether it is transportation or special education.
If you want something, you can earn money and pay for it.

That includes school.

Smart doesn't seem to have anything to do with college, IME.

So why don't you go to college?

It isn't free. If you think it is free, that means college may be too difficult for you. You may struggle with concepts.
