On Dec the poor Muslims can hire the Salvation bell ringers and have their own bell wringing.

The comingling is about as illegal as it gets for federal grants. They will partner but comingling is forbidden.

What the heck are you even talking about?????

A group has applied for a loan under the provisions of the 5013c. That's all that has happened. This group, like any religious group, can offer social services to the community in a non-religious way just like any other group. If they qualify, they get money. If they don't, they are declined.

What's all the whining about?

I repeat myself. I am not whining. I am providing facts. You were wrong about the federal money because you don't deal with facts.

I had to show you the LMDC web site that tells us they are federal dollars.

Quote:
According to Mr. Gamal, any grant money received from the LMDC will go toward programs “such as domestic violence programs, Arabic and other foreign-language classes, programs and services for homeless veterans, two multicultural art exhibits and immigration services.” He also added that the center will create 150 permanent jobs in the coming years when it is completed.

The developer said has received indications of interest from several major banks regarding possible construction loans for the center. He also said he is close to filing paperwork to establish Park51 as a 501c3 non profit. Planning for the center is still in a very early stage.

You provided the link from Crane and didn't read it.

You are wrong again. You have to be an actual non profit before you can get non profit grants.

The actual formal legal name for this fiasco is still Cordova House.

The bottom line is they are hustling money and don't have a community center to render services from and are still not incorporated.

They are in the dream stages.

And the next error you make is applying for a loan. it ain't a loan. It was a grant.

so they will render services for wife beatings? How ironic. They don't do domestic violence. The wives have it coming.

I admitted I was wrong on the the fact that the fed money is part of this particular grant (don't ever recall you admitting to be wrong on your history of AFF). Has nothing to do with me ignoring facts. I obviously recognized them as they were cited.

No whiner... I wasn't wrong. If they don't qualify, they don't qualify. I've repeated that about 10 times.

As far as what services they render... please cite information first. That's really not the point. There's a process for these things. No need to stir commotion over the fact that they applied for a GRANT. Our own church has applied for similar grants.

Now you admit it is a grant and not a loan? Do you know there is a difference?

This again from your Cranes link.

This again from your Cranes link.
Yes, I know the different between a grant and a loan. I've been the recipient of both. I wasn't so much wrong, as I just typed quickly to make a point. My point was "they applied for x, and still have to meet qualifications." And further, x is available to all non-profits, including YOUR local church. You missed the point for your opportunity to feel smart. There really was no need to re-quote me on the "loan" word used. I was a Business Minor and work in finance. I think I can hang just find with anyone on the difference between a loan and a grant.

Again... never seen you admit you were wrong. Just more copy/paste.

Still, my point remains that this is a non-issue. I'm not quite sure what your issue is other than your militant hatred.
