LB is a Starbucks church, while the others is Dunkin Donuts. You'll find goatees and laptops hanging out at a Starbucks, while most folks just grab their coffe & donut at Dunkins and go on their way.
LB is Mac the other PC.
You might see an illustrative sermon at LB with a lot of creativity, the other will break down the Word ol skool style with a good ol' fashioned Bible study (and the Man can break it down)....different strokes for different folks. By looking at your kids vids, I figured he was more into creativity???
Have you heard butler preach?
__________________ Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
I went to Bible College with Dan Butler and have read his book but have actually never heard him preach.
He is a very smart guy and very personable. I disagree with him on many things including the premise of his book but he is a very agreeable guy to disagree with!
I spoke to him at the last GC I went to 10 years ago and had an interesting conversation. It came up about some of those "industry" folks in LA being in his church. I found it pretty interesting since he is pretty conservative.
One interesting note is that his brother, Jeff Butler, is an exUPCer who done went and "gone charismatic" in the GNCM mold.

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
Quote from Ethel Goss (widow of 1st UPC Gen Supt. Howard Goss) book "The Winds of God"
I think I know who he is. It's sad that he chose to come here and initiate this stuff. Last time he was here he went on and on about how he was just responding to what others said about "his little circle of friends"...ironic too that he would mention my church...because I know who told him that information. In fact I even hugged the guy at camp meeting (not our little trolling friend but the guy I suspect told him which church I go to)
If your accusing who I think your accusing your wrong.
