Pentecost Sunday Services

We had Friday and Sunday services in celebration of Pentecost Sunday and it was awesome! I wasn't able to be at the Friday services, but a minister from the Apostolic Assembly ministered and, from what I've heard, really ministered the word. Sunday, my Pastor ministered and we had a young man get baptized and another lady received the HG (speaking in tongues) during the song service. This lady had been attending for a few weeks and just a couple days before, one of her close friends committed suicide. She came with a burden and broken heart, but left uplifted.

God is awesome! It was so good to see this lady reach out to God with a broken heart and see God respond and fill her with His Spirit.

Anyone else have good services over the weekend?

Re: Pentecost Sunday Services

We had a great Pentecost Sunday service. A friend of ours son-in-law received the Holy Ghost along with about 9 or 10 others, and that just in our English service. I have not heard what all happened in the Spanish. Mark Drost preached, that man is crazy. We always have a great time when he is here.

Re: Pentecost Sunday Services

Went to my wife's Charismatic church Sunday so didn't hear one single word about it being Pentecost Sunday!

Does anybody know when Charistmatic Sunday is?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Pentecost Sunday Services

We had a guest speaker, a Military Chaplain (Luthren) He shared with us about his tours of duty in Afganistan and Iraq.

Re: Pentecost Sunday Services

They didn't really do much here other than a regular service... which is fine with me...

But... I will never think of pentecost sunday and not remember a message that was preached years ago...

When The Day Of Pentecost Was Fully Come...

He preached on the observance of pentecost and that it entailed but brought out as his main thought... on that day... all of the previous observances were fulfilled. For years they had kept the feast toward a future day... and on that day...the day of pentecost had fully come.

Yeah... I'll probably never forget that... It was a great and encouraging word.
